It's a shame that the leadership for the arts has been heading in the wrong direction for the last 50 years... but I believe the needles moving back in the other direction. People are beginning to understand the psychological, emotional and brain stimulating benefits of the arts. I think that in the next 10 years the type of leadership you demand is going to be pushing the types of things you talk about. I have proof that it's happening... I'm a consumer of the arts and I have never commented on a blog that discussed such ideals as these... yet I've done it twice in the past two days. The fact that the conversations are being had in a space that's accessible to someone like me says that it's happening, right? Interesting questions and thoughtful answers… nicely done.
